The DreamMaker Projects run for 12 months and consist of two phases:

The Project Phase (2 months)

The Project Phase which lasts for around two months, during which the Fellows work for a few days with the Friend and the remaining time with international experts on a hands-on project. The goal of the Project Phase is to complete a specific tangible task (the Challenge) posed to the Fellow team by the Friend as well as the individual DreamPlans. The Project Phase will take place at the D&F Academy in Hamburg, Germany.

The DreamMaker Phase (10 months)

The Project Phase is followed by the DreamMaker Phase of around 10 months, in which the Fellows return to their homes. During the DreamMaker Phase each Fellow participates in mentoring and skill workshops provided by Dekeyser&Friends, which support them in implementing their own initiatives and dreams.

The DreamMaker Phase is a mentoring and support program to help the Fellows implement their own own projects as set down in the DreamPlan. These projects can be anything from social initiatives, NGOs, social businesses to cultural and artistic projects.

You can take part in the DreamMaker Phase even as a student or while holding a job, since the engagement during the DreamMaker Phase will be part-time.

All Fellows of the DreamMaker Projects and selected Fellows of the Inspiration Projects take part in the DreamMaker Phase.

Components of the DreamMaker Phase

Based on the educational principles of the D&F Academy, the DreamMaker Phase will consist of several integrated components, which we will provide via online channels. Those will include peer and expert mentoring, skill trainings, as well as workshops on topics such as funding, legal issues, or communication.

It is our goal that at the end of the 10-months DreamMaker phase all our DreamMaker will have taken the first decisive steps towards their dream and launched their initiative, project or social business.

Who is it for?

The DreamMaker Projects may be of particular interest to those applicants who want to learn from their Friend and complete the project Challenge and who already have a dream or idea for an initiative, which they want to implement in their future.
