Fellows performed with Fire of Anatolia in Istanbul

In the Dance Project 2009, our Fellows lived for 3 months in Istanbul, Turkey with 15 Fellows from all over the world and took part in the amazing dance show of Fire of Anatolia, one of the biggest dance groups in the world!

The Fellows learned to dance oriental and occidental, modern and traditional dances with Fire of Anatolia, one of the biggest dance groups in the world. They were part of the dancers performing live on stage, worked with the music & stage technicians and helped the costume designers to create the extravagant costumes for the show. Fire of Anatolia draws from Anatolia’s 5,000 year-old traditions and legends. Its General Art Director, Mustafa Erdoğan, coached and taught the Fellows the extraordinary variety of dances, a fusion of folkloric and modern, and prepared them to become part of their amazing show. In the first months, they lived and worked in their private Dance Camp before going on stage with one of the groups of Fire of Anatolia. All the professional dancers go to practice the dance forms, build up their body shape and prepare as a team for the big show in this artistic training camp, called the Art Academy.
